Back when I was in high school I ran the gamut of angsty rock music like most teens at the beginning of the 21st century (Korn, Linkin Park, Evanescence, etc). The thing with angst though is that while you express it most as a teenager, you have more reason to have it when you’re an adult, thus you tend to seek it out less.
So saith comic artist S.P. Burke in his review of a Nickelback album, which I bumped into while reading his webcomics “Oh Goodie!”, and with whom I agree wholeheartedly. In the meantime, check the band Balkan Beat Box out – “Eastern-bloc-inspired techno fueled by Manischewitz and a big dose of punk ‘tude” in the words of Entertainment Weekly, or “funky klezmer” in mine.
